First and foremost I want to say congratulations to everyone who took home awards this past weekend at the Grabby Awards in Chicago. I was so excited when I read that both The Drifter and To The Last Man won four awards a piece, and that my good friend Diesel Washington took home the award for Performer Of The Year. . . too cool :-) I'm definitly bummed out I wasn't able to make it to Chicago this year, but I'm looking forward to heading to IML next year and making up for all the fun I missed out on this year :-P Again, congrats to everyone who took home awards!
Anyways, the reason that I stayed home this past weekend was so that I could check out the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Regrettably, DEMF happens the same exact weekend every year as IML :-( I've never been to DEMF before but have always wanted to go, so even though I missed out on IML I still had a pretty good weekend here at home in Detroit!
I checked out the festival with my good friend Tim Towers and his boyfriend Ben, and we had an absolute blast. There were some amazing DJ's from all over the country that came to Detroit to spin. I don't think we heard a single one we didn't like!
