War of the Marvels

Hey guys!

Hope you all had a great weekend and that your Monday mornings are off to a great start. Mine was pretty low key, spent it for the most part getting caught up on classwork and the stack of comic books that has accumulated next to my bed . . . and I've got to say that after reading the current issue of Ms Marvel, I'm really glad that I did :)

War of the Marvels, the current storyline running in the book, is really turning out to be one of the most exciting comic book stories I've read in a long time. It's something fresh and revitalizing for the character, and also one of the first major stories to be told in her book that isn't completely event driven. The writer and artist have perfected the element of surprise, especially after the last page of the latest issue. Issue 46 can't come soon enough!

Make sure to leave me a comment about what you think of War of the Marvels.

Have a great week guys!

I'll be honest. From the moment it was revealed in an interview that Carol Danvers would be killed, I thought I had this all figured out. Since I've been reading comic books for a long time now, I knew she would be back and when she "died" in a big energy explosion (one of the fakest fake comic book deaths possible) I figured she would be back for sure.

HOWEVER, I must say that War of the Marvels has defied all my expectations and has really kept me on my toes with all the twists and turns! I also can't wait until the next issue to find out once and for all who is who and what is what and who is left standing as the one true Ms Marvel!

Plus even though she's apparently only drawing every other issue, I still really love Sana Takeda's artwork and I really hope she sticks around! Her art is just so pretty and exciting to me and the way she draws Carol and Karla's hair especially makes me want a Ms Marvel doll so I can brush her hair. How gay is that? hahaha

Have you gotten caught up on Uncanny X-Men yet? I'm really curious about what you thought of the conclusion of the Utopia crossover. As you know, I had my doubts about what they were doing with Emma, but my buddy STORM and I both enjoyed the concluding chapter.
